Hello!
My name is Kellie Carmendy, a 5th year senior from Powell, OH. I am studying sports industry and I hope to work as an event coordinator within extreme sports after graduation. Working for a company such as Red Bull or the Xgames would be my dream. Growing up I loved the adventure sports including, snowboarding, racing, and cliff diving really caught my attention. I was a platform diver for 13 years including 3 years for the Varsity Ohio State Diving Team. Unfortunately, my dare devil personality led to receiving multiple concussions and had to medically retire. With in those years, diving really shaped my character not only in the athletic aspect, but also with my values in life.
Practicing three times a day while maintaining solid grades in school and having a part time job really taught me self discipline and time management. I was referred as team mom by my teammates. I was the go-to person if anyone needed help with a workout, a ride to the airport, or someone to get advice from. Being a leader was really important to me and it still is even though I am not on a team anymore. A leader not only has to be able to set a good example and motivate those who are in the personal bubble, but also have to have a good representation in the outside bubble. Being part of the diving team, I demonstrated leadership skills; I also represented The Ohio State University.
